Introduction
The economy cannot operate without energy. Energy is a one of the major catalysts of development for most sectors of the Zambian economy. Energy sector has proved to be vital in the quest to achieving sustainable economic development in the country. At the commencement of the Seventh National Development Plan (SNDP) period (2017-2021), the energy sector goal was to ensure adequate and reliable supply of energy at the lowest economic, social and environmental cost. This entails that the sector planned on focusing on exploiting the most cost-effective fuel/energy generation/acquiring methods and putting in place an efficient and effective fuel supply system. The quest by Harvest Group of Companies Limited to undertake this project of establishing a bulk fuel storage depot in Chibombo District of Central Province aims at supporting the objectives of SNDP.
