ZAMBIAN PAVILLION: ZEMA, OTHERS SHOWCASE READINESS TO SUPPORT CLIMATE ACTION

At United Nations Climate Change conference (COP27) in Sham El Sheikh, Egypt, the Zambia Environmental Management Agency is showcasing the country’s status and readiness for an Enhanced Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

As the designated Climate Reporting/GHG Inventory Coordinating entity (National Communications and Biennial Update Reports), the ZEMA team, led by Director General, Dr. Douty Chibamba, under the Zambian Delegation leadership of Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, MP, Minister of Green Economy and Environment, has been engaged in bilateral meetings and presentations in relation to its role on the country’s GHG inventory and climate reporting.

It is worth reporting that several Zambian institutions among them, Energy Regulation Board, ZANACO, WWF, Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB), Zambia Tourism Agency and Zambia Development Agency had several engagements in relation to climate action as it relates to their respective mandates.
