Project Background

The project constitutes the expansion and technical renovation for an existing hydrometallurgical
copper processing operation comprising Leach Plant 1 and 2, with an additional new raw-material
preparation and curing Plant to be constructed on Plot 19. The project is designed to transition the
company’s focus toward the processing of low-grade tailings and high-bonded copper oxide ores.
By implementing advanced maturation (curing) and thickening technologies, the facility will
increase its production capacity from the current 24.6 tons/day to a target of 56 tons of cathode
copper per day (approximately 18,500 tons per annum).
