PROJECT DESCRIPTION

LTI ReEnergy Cleantech Project Development & Investments Zambia Limited proposes to develop a 500MW FPV Solar Power Plant covering about 500 hectares of Lake Kariba in Siavonga District. The project will generate electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current (DC) electricity using silicon panels that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. The DC power will be converted to alternating current (AC) using inverters connected to a medium voltage (MV) transformer, which is linked to a high voltage (HV) transformer. The output will be Photovoltaic (PV) power.

Associated facilities include:

– Installation of 3 Smart Transformer Stations for 25.2MVA / 30,636MWdc area cluster energy evacuation on medium voltage.

– 20 hectares of offshore land reserved for a temporal assembly point.

– A substation occupying 10 hectares of land.

– A 330KV transmission line to feed power into the National Grid.
