Victoria Falls University Clean Energy Limited (VFU-CEL) proposes to develop and operate a 38 MWp ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant with an anticipated export capacity of 25–28 MWac in Kazungula District, Southern Province, Zambia. The proposed project site is located at coordinates Latitude –17.761784 and Longitude 25.2729619, approximately 2 km from the Kazungula ZESCO Substation, which has been identified as the preferred point of interconnection to the national electricity grid. The project is intended to contribute to Zambia’s efforts to diversify its electricity generation mix, reduce overreliance on hydropower, and enhance energy security through the development of clean, renewable energy resources.

VFU-CEL is a Zambian-registered special purpose vehicle formed through a partnership between ACES Renewables Limited, an experienced international renewable energy developer listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, and Victoria Falls University of Technology, a private Zambian institution specialising in science, technology, and innovation. This partnership combines international technical and financial expertise with local institutional knowledge and capacity building. The project is aligned with national energy and climate policy objectives and is expected to deliver socio-economic benefits, including employment creation, skills development, and local infrastructure investment, while supplying low-carbon electricity to the national grid.
