LABORATORY ANALYST

1. Job Purpose

Under the Supervision of Senior Laboratory Analyst, support and conduct the analysis of environmental samples and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.

      b. Main Duties and Accountabilities (Without Limitation)

Conduct chemical and physical analyses of environmental samples (water, soil, Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer, EXDRF Spectrometer and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer;

1. Prepare and calibrate standards, reagents, and solution
2. Assist in method development and validation.
3. Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot instrumental issues
4. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.
5. Assist in data entry and reporting.
6. Participate in laboratory meetings and training sessions.
7. Collaborate with other laboratory staff and external stakeholders.
8. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols.

2. Job Qualifications, Skills and Experience

1.  Grade 12 school certificate
2. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
3. Demonstratable experience in Laboratory operations
4. Strong understanding of environmental analytical techniques
5. Knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment
6. Laboratory Quality Management skills
7. Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance principles
8. Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental analytical laboratory management or related  laboratory services
9. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations.
10. Excellent communication, interpersonal and client service skills.
