Project Background

DHARANI MINING LIMITED (DHARANI MINING LIMITED) is a Zambian registered company incorporated on the 28th day of July 2020. The company holds Large Scale Exploration License No. 27272-HQ-LEL in Mwinilunga District for the purpose of mineral exploration activities for copper, cobalt, iron ore, lead and zinc. The license was granted by the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development on 8th December 2020 for a period of four (4) years, renewable. The license area covers about 59,696.1318 hectares. The project area under consideration is located in the Northwestern Province of Zambia, specifically in the Chibwika Area of Mwinilunga District. It is situated roughly 20 kilometres southwest of the Mwinilunga Central Business District. It is located in HRH Chief Chibwika’s ancestral territory. The proposed project site is accessible from the Mwinilunga CBD via the gravel Mwinilunga-Ntambu road. The surrounding area, apart from exploration excavations which were done by early explorers, is in its natural and virgin nature. Minimal land disturbances in the area are mainly caused by subsistence farming as well as local settlements.
