About the Company

Cooma Solar Power Plant Limited is a company established to build a 100MWac solar
PV facility with a 20MWh Battery Energy Storage System in the Chifwepa/Gamela area
of Chief Cooma, Choma District, Southern Province of Zambia. It is a partnership
between GEI Power Limited, a major player in Zambia’s sustainable energy sector, and
YEO Energy Investments Inc., a subsidiary of YEO Technology, a leading technology
and energy solutions company based in Türkiye.

GEI Power Limited focuses on developing large-scale green hydrogen and solar
infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa, with a project pipeline exceeding 140MW green
hydrogen and 110MW solar PV. They are also known for manufacturing and distributing
the ‘Mbaula Ya Mphamvu’, a clean cook stove fueled by methanol, aimed at replacing
charcoal usage to combat deforestation and climate change. As a partner of USAID
Power Africa and a member of the Africa Mini-grid Developer Association (AMDA), GEI
aims to create a carbon-free world through renewable energy while enhancing people’s
lives and safeguarding the environment.
