ESMP – Proposed Establishment Of A Sorting, Processing And Marketing Facility For Solid Waste Recyclables In Livingstone District By Keli Clean Zambia Limited (KCZL)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
Keli Clean Zambia Limited is a registered entity under PACRA and plans to specialize in the provision of waste management solutions. KCZL is situated at Plot No 694, along Industrial Road, Light Industrial Area, Livingstone, Zambia. The company intends to establish and operate a solid waste recyclables recovery, processing and marketing facility to be in Livingstone. The facility or recycling hub is expected to also receive recyclables from collection centres in Seven (7) districts in Southern Province where significant volumes of solid waste are generated daily. These include Kazungula, Livingstone, Zimba, Kalomo, Choma, Monze, and Mazabuka. These locations will ensure that the processing hub receives adequate solid waste raw materials for recycling.
KCZL has developed this Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) to support the environmental and social due diligence provisions for activities financed by the World Bank under the Africa Environmental Health and Pollution Management Program (EHPMP). This ESMP follows the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) as well as the national laws and regulations of Zambia.
