President Edgar Lungu says he expects investors to follow the law by compensating affected people whenever there is any development to be undertaken.
The President says government values the people hence the reason why it compensates people affected before implementing any project.
President Lungu was speaking at City Airport on arrival from Nchelenge, Luapula Province recently.
The Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (Statutory Instrument No. 28 of 1997) and the Environmental Management Act No. 12 of 2011 mandate the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) to enforce fair compensation and resettlement of persons affected by any development project or programmes across the country.
